Escape from Heck Island is a raucous time and shows just how assured Coutis is in his wheelhouse of deadpan absurdism, doped up with self-aware cheese and bizarro references to Aussie pop culture.

Lovers of musical comedy will be well rewarded but those less into that genre might want to give this a miss.

All in all, I would recommend that anyone who has a chance to see this show should do so for an absolutely unique and hilarious experience.

I only wish that That’s The Way The Mop Flaps had a longer run at MICF this year so I could recommend it to everyone for a longer time!
