This is one of the most important films in this year’s festival. I would implore anyone wanting to learn more about Palestinian history to watch it. 

High octane thrills, chills and an (un)healthy dosage of familial anguish – Michael Mann’s Ferrari is an exhilarating portrait of a man whose complexity is shaped by a past scarred by immense grief.

Ultimately, whilst its premise is much stronger than its humdrum execution, One Life succeeds in reminding us of the inherent goodness of ordinary people.

If you have no interest in historical accuracy and enjoy stunning cinematography, awkward romancing, spectacular war scenes, and hate the English, then Napoleon is the film for you. 

Continuing the stylistic trend of Johnson’s previous work, especially his sci-fi mockumentary Operation Avalanche, at times BlackBerry feels like a documentary, which suits the true story it’s based on very well.

Oppenheimer is a freakishly good match for Christopher Nolan, and it may well be his best work.

Who knew a story about a video game where bricks fall from the sky could be so interesting?

Vicky Krieps delivers her most achingly beautiful performance yet, as Empress Elizabeth of Austria, a figure endowed with all the spirit and boundless curiosity of woman, yet forced to undermine and erase herself amongst a culture, time and country that has little use for such traits in women. 

The real achievement of this ripping action flick, bless its existence, is its characters and themes: there’s a full meal here, and all of it is delicious.

Considering the film's lofty, existential ambitions, You Won't Be Alone ends up a surprisingly resounding success, thanks in no small part to adept direction and incredible performances from the cast all round.
