It’s a post-Bluey world and children deserve better from animated dog properties, let alone adults who might be drawn in by Dog Man’s appealing art.

Lovers of musical comedy will be well rewarded but those less into that genre might want to give this a miss.

Under Streetlights is an appealing feel-good film from Australia’s outback core, and a triumph of independent Aussie filmmaking.

In fairness it is well elevated over some of its more pedestrian vampiric peers, but Thirst unfortunately falls just shy of brilliance.

Seeking Representation is Natali Caro’s first show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival - their first show of this length - and Natali is undoubtedly one to watch for in future years. An incisive comedian with an unusual genre-hopping style: this was a solo show like no other. 

As it is, Kung Fu Panda 4 is a worthy sequel and enjoyable film, even if it doesn’t quite live up to its potential.
